Job summary

About the Position: Located at the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation Fort Moore, GA 31905. Major duties

Serve as a Faculty Member in the School of Professional Military Education (PME) and conduct Unified Land Operations instruction in Professional Military Education courses for Captains through Colonels. Perform professional instructional duties in a graduate level academic environment for Spanish language courses such as the Intermediate Level Command, and General Staff Officer Course, Joint Operations Course, and the Captains Career Course. Revise, evaluate, adapt, prepare, design, research, and teach PME curricula. Develop, revise, evaluate, and present subjects relative to graduate level resident and non-resident instruction in an adult experiential learning environment. Conduct curriculum development activities for assigned lessons and development and management of graduate level PME. Act as Small Group Advisor and/or perform leader performance coaching duties for a student staff group. Assist in preparation of graduate level course syllabi, lesson plans, practical exercises, visual aids, support requests, and other instructional support requirements.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Master Degree Requirement: All applicants must possess a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts to your application. In addition to meeting the Master's Degree requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: AND Military Education Requirement: This position requires the incumbent to be a graduate of an Intermediate Level Education (ILE) graduate, or Command and General Staff Officer Course, or its equivalent. AND This position requires the incumbent to be a Joint Professional Military Education Phase II (JPME-II) qualified/graduate of the Joint Warfighter Course or/and Joint experience. NOTE: Military Education: You must submit copies of your transcripts, certificate of completion, DD214 Member Copy 4 showing the course under the education portion or other documentation for the above course. AND Specialized Experience: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience in 1) teaching, training, or mentoring an adult education/program at the Federal or State level; 2) developing and revising course material; 3) preparing and reviewing course syllabi, lesson plans for curriculum. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires fluency in the Spanish language. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Professional Military Education Experience Academic Leadership Administration Experience Interpersonal, Communication and Decision-Making Abilities Knowledge of Army Curriculum Development (A.D.D.I.E.) This position can be filled at one of the following academic ranks: Instructor Assistant Professor Associate Professor Professor Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience. If you are currently serving on active duty: You MUST submit a certification from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active-duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions not more than 120 days after the date the certification is submitted for consideration in the hiring process. The certification MUST show the characterization of your discharge (Honorable, General, etc.). Prior to appointment, the service member's character of service and qualifying discharge or release must be verified through a DD 214 or equivalent document. Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience and education alone--NO substitution of education for experience is permitted.
