Major duties

You will ensure inventory is properly maintained and hazardous materials meet shipboard specifications. You will identify supply discrepancies and recommend solutions. You will store (Hazardous Materials) HAZMAT materials following prescribed policies and regulations. You will provide training on inventory and shelf life management. You will assist with the delivery of HAZMAT from the HAZMAT Center free issue. You will complete the Afloat HAZMAT Coordinator, Hazardous Material Control and Management Program and Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) within six months of employment.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector through knowledge and application of supply chain management of systems and software providing logistical support for services such as receiving, shipping, distribution and delivery of services and materials. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Comply with (Hazardous Material) HAZMAT storage requirements and regulations, labeling, and procedures; 2) Maintain shipment inventory and inspect materials for compliance with regulations; 3) Resolve discrepancies within inventory management and customer service; 4) Utilize automated systems for inventorying and recording records. There is no educational substitution for specialized experience in this series at this grade level.
