About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy) which coordinates and directs the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) independently on a military installation.

Major duties

Develop installation policies and procedures that outline responsibilities for the installation Family Advocacy Program (FAP). Plan, schedule, assign, and direct the work of others; establish work priorities and deadlines. Ensure that medical treatment facilities and civilian and installation agencies provide direct services such as emergency/temporary shelter, short term crisis intervention, medical treatment, and follow up services, 24-hour hot lines. Apply current directives and clinically appropriate principles and practices in directing the rehabilitative and treatment function of the overall Family Advocacy Program.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (You MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package) Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service or equivalent which includes working in a family advocacy environment, assessing incidents of abuse, providing counseling to abusers or victims, and developing treatment plans to those involved in abuse as well as managing the program's full range of prevention, community education, direct services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Information Resources Management (IRM) Interpersonal Skills Oral Communication Program Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Education
