Job summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SERVICE SHOP NUCLEAR MANAGER in the Service Shop (Code 990), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will develop and execute nuclear schedules, including interfaces with project, non-nuclear and Combat Systems items. You will review major event schedules and schedules for technical work documents. You will review all work packages to ensure early identification and and ordering of material will support facilities and equipment. You will review cost and progress reports to anticipate and/or initiate corrective action prior to exceeding cost limits or failing to meet production schedules. You will attend and conduct a variety of meetings or critiques as necessary to review key reports and schedules; assess the progress of the availability, identify the problems causing work delays or stoppages and initiate corrective action.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing analytical management techniques, including production and material control, cost, and quality control and personnel management. Experience coordinating all phases of nuclear and non-nuclear surface or subsurface ship repair and overhaul. Experience meeting radiation exposure program requirements on a variety of nuclear naval vessels. Experience fabricating products to support overhaul, repair, and conversion of nuclear work on surface craft and submarines.
