About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Physical Security Specialist in developing policy and guidance for the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) physical security program at the installation.

Major duties

Develop and implement physical security procedures, policies, and standards that include programs protecting classified/sensitive property, material, equipment and facilities. Coordinate with other installation elements and other agencies in the preparation of emergency plans. Conduct physical and internal security inspections to detect deficiencies and violations. Manage crime prevention programs to determine adequacy and effectiveness. Prepare surveys of sensitive areas as Arms Room and Motor Pools. Direct work operations of civilians, military personnel and contractors. Provide Intrusion Detection System (IDS) management. Oversee Installation Access Control Vetting and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring procedures. Compile budgetary and spending plans.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work interpreting security regulations; safeguarding critical information, equipment and facilities; reviewing existing security programs in meeting current mission guidelines, and implementing current security guidance directed from higher level commands; monitoring and maintaining physical security equipment; experience planning, distributing and monitoring work assignments of others. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management Manages Human Resources Physical Security Security Program Management Security Tools and Methods Vulnerabilities Assessment and Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
