Job summary

The selectee for this position will serve as a DEPARTMENT HEAD in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Major duties

You will advise senior leaders on evolving issues, concerns or deficiencies that impact an organization's ability to meet its mission. You will analyze the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting goals and objectives. You will develop performance plans for employees to evaluate work accomplishments. You will plan, develop and coordinate resources, facilities and administrative support functions to improve and foster efficient operations of the organization. You will direct the allocation of resources (e.g., funds, manpower, facility, space) to accomplish program missions.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Carrying out the principles, methods, and techniques of business and public administrations with knowledge of the Navy Operations programs inclusive of Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Operations and 2 or more of the following: Air Operations; Port Operations; Emergency Management; Fire and Emergency Services; Occupational Safety and Health; Training and Readiness; Explosives Safety; Response Task Force; Regional Operations Center functions; 2) Evaluate program assessment of capabilities, risks and outputs; ensuring standards are developed and maintained by the organization; and 3) Developing and resourcing overall program training, exercises, policy, planning, programming and monitoring budget execution for shore operations.
