Job summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MAINTENANCE ZONE MANAGER in the LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will plan, coordinate, and oversee all work performed within the assigned area of Crane Maintenance Division. You will be responsible for the overhaul, maintenance and repair for the Shipyard’s nuclear, nuclear refueling, and non-nuclear weight handling equipment. You will coordinate the implementation of crane Maintenance Division policy within their area of cognizance. You will be responsible for the overhaul, maintenance and repair of special purpose equipment assigned to lifting and handling, nuclear support functions.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and workflow control techniques related to weight handling maintenance operation in support of ship repair projects. Experience applying comprehensive and intensive practical knowledge of weight handling equipment maintenance methods, procedures, materials, processes, and record keeping equipment procedures used in supporting major industrial ship repairs, facilities, plant, and equipment. Experience accomplishing many different complex and varied weight handling maintenance processes, functions, and projects.
