Job summary
About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, G-4, Maintenance Division, Maintenance Branch located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Major duties
Serve as Chief of the Maintenance Branch to provide functional guidance and leadership on Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), system management, and business, strategic, and long-range operation planning. Execute administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to office and group missions and functions. Provide performance evaluations, awards and recognition, formal counseling and disciplinary measures, and individual development for subordinates along with conducting hiring actions. Plan logistical support of materiel systems managed by the US Army reserve Command. Execute US Army Reserve Command reorganizations commensurate with available resources and customer needs. Develop US Army Reserve Command policy in response to new DoD and Army programs/requirements and provides for US Army Reserve Command planning, programming, budgeting and tracking of the policy. Develop positive programs to reduce costs, improve productivity, and establish internal procedures and controls. Provide for implementation of systemic business operations, which enable efficient US Army Reserve Command planning, resourcing and tracking of system peculiar acquisition and logistics support. Develop a thorough understanding of materiel acquisition, logistic support of program and service sustainment through the US Army reserve Command. Provide functional proponency guidance and instruction for US Army reserve Command implementation of total logistics support programs. Analyze materiel acquisition, logistic support, and program and service sustainment throughout USARC.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
