Major duties
Assists subordinates in monitoring complex, manufacturing processes that produce components, subsystems, and systems by providing advice, guidance, and policy interpretation. Leads manufacturing systems/key processes reviews, including Material Management/Accounting System elements, Property, Purchasing, and Estimating System Reviews. Applies position and resource management functions for subordinates, including determining the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to work performance. Ensures Individual Development Plans fulfill DAWIA certifications and customer-directed requirements. Advises the director about how team activities relate to/impact CMO programs. Determines the staffing level needed, requests the resources required, and allocates personnel to adequately/effectively perform team operations. Serves as a liaison between operational elements and procuring/receiving activities to assist, forecast trends, resolve problems, and communicate study findings.
Qualification
To qualify for a Supervisory Industrial Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Monitoring complex manufacturing processes and procedures. Delivering management principles and techniques in order to plan, direct, supervise and/or conduct analysis and investigations of schedule trends or conditions affecting contracts and delegations. Applying industrial practices and manufacturing policies/procedures.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
