Job summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES of Navy Region Northwest.
Major duties
You will direct firefighters during structural and shipboard fire suppression and extinguishing. You will oversee the planning and assignment of work to ensure it is completed based on priorities and resource capabilities. You will coordinate with officers on other shifts and stations to ensure work accomplishment, training, and priorities are met. You will brief senior leaders or other employees on matters on firefighting actives, personnel, and equipment.
Qualification
***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for this position: Fire Officer I, II, III, Fire Inspector I, II, Fire Instructor I, II, Airport Firefigher, HAZMAT Incident Commander, and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. These certifications must have been awarded by DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Managing and directing fire department operations involving structural, shipboard, as well as operations involving hazardous materials 2) Utilizing the latest technical developments in fire protection to achieve and maintain operational readiness with minimal manpower to accomplish the overall fire protection mission; and 3) Perform supervisory duties such as managing, organizing, directing, providing technical leadership and guidance, assigning and prioritizing work, position management, evaluating work performance of subordinates and resolving disciplinary issues.
