Job summary

Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN, C281 MAIN PROPULSION BRANCH HEAD in the HM&E FLEET AND INDUSTUSTRIAL SUPPORT DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.
Major duties
You will provide technical assistance involving troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions, material condition assessments, conducting engineering investigations and failure analysis. You will develop long and short-range plans, schedules and key events for work to be accomplished by the FTA Main Propulsion/Steam/Diesel Branch and assist Shops and Codes. You will develop staffing plans, personnel policy, and annual budget for the Branch. You will assign and direct overall work operations, establish objectives and set priorities for the Branch. You will identify developmental and training needs of personnel within the Branch, Planning and Estimating Department and the Ship Repair Production shops.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience assessing test results and requirements to troubleshoot, adjust, modify, and improve equipment and systems in support of a propulsion repair program.
