Major duties

Evaluate effectiveness of maintenance and certification procedures and develops improved practices and procedures to increase efficiency of maintenance. Perform maintenance and certification on equipment as workload and conditions require it. Provide maintenance of the air traffic control services and navigational aids to the installation, its tenant units, supporting armed forces and civilian aviation. Supervise directly or through subordinates', the aviation division supply function, ensuring that the Prescribed Load List {PLL), Bench Stock, and Supply Document Registers.

Qualification

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 1-Year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing preventative and nonscheduled corrective maintenance for air traffic navigation electronic systems, subsystems and equipment; Modify air navigation electronic systems and radar equipment; Maintain modification records required by federal agencies.; and Control military and civil air traffic within an assigned airspace. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Electronics Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education
