Job summary

About the Position: Serves as Chief and Resource Manager of Architecture/Structures Section, responsible for the management and supervision of a professional staff providing highly complex architectural/structural/historic preservation work for civil, military and Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) projects.

Major duties

Works under the general supervision of the Branch Chief who assigns work in terms of objectives and goals. Assigns team members; prioritizes, plans, schedules, and executes project specific work. Provides technical oversight of A-E’s who are used to perform design work. Products include studies, designs, analyses, plans, and specifications for a wide range of building types, structures and ancillary projects. Work products also include multiple purpose dams and appurtenant structures, navigation locks, breakwaters, docks, and waterfront structures.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-13 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Design Project Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
