Major duties
This position will serve as Warrior Athlete Readiness & Resilience (WARR) Strength & Conditioning Coordinator and will administer comprehensive health, wellness, and performance programming efforts to all beneficiaries including active-duty military, family members, retirees, and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians. The incumbent will plan, develop, organize, manage, and supervise integrated programming that maintains amphibious capability while minimizing wear and tear on the musculoskeletal system. Performance programming efforts will encompass strength, power, speed, agility, aerobic capacity, applied mental skills, injury prevention, mobility and recovery. The incumbent will design programming for and lead Unit Physical Training (PT); administer self-directed fitness programs, special events, and instructional programs; create briefs and conduct seminars; assist with management, supervision and operational support of the Fitness Centers, and provide oversight of High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) programming, coaching and administration. May also provide support to the Sports programs and assist with Semper Fit special events. May assist in conducting regular inspections on fitness and sports equipment. Works in conjunction with other human performance and Semper Fit entities to provide an all-encompassing, holistic Warrior Athlete program. Serves as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders including Force Fitness Instructors (FFI), Sports Medicine Injury Prevention Specialists (SMIP), and health professionals for the purpose of enhancing, administering, coordinating, and integrating performance programming efforts aboard the installation. Develops and delivers briefings to leadership to convey program information and interprets all data relevant to the performance program. Conducts program evaluations and tracks mental and physical performance outcomes to assess and improve program effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement. Establishes a comprehensive annual plan which includes program goals and objectives that align with Marine Corps Policy and program metrics, and that identifies and prioritizes health risks and performance goals of the given population. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing activities, resources, and program objectives, and adapts and alters program activities based on findings. May initiate purchase requests for required equipment, supplies, and services. May be assigned as a purchase cardholder. Prepares and submits the annual budget for review/approval. Performs a variety of administrative tasks to include but not limited to establishing and updating operating procedures, preparing management narratives, after action reports etc. Reports significant issues and problems related to work accomplishment to the higher-level supervisor. Supervises, mentors, advises, appraises, assigns work to, and reviews the work of subordinates. Plans work schedules, designates priorities, and assigns duties. Provides feedback and advocates for recognition relative to employee performance and recommends appropriate awards. Advises employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management, and assures that mission and accuracy requirements are met. Assists with position management and periodically reviews program structure and function. Conducts, monitors, updates, and documents a comprehensive training program to ensure all staff members and volunteers possess the necessary skills and knowledge for their position. Assists in the development and preparation of strategic operational plans. Reports safety and security violations to supervisors when discovered. Coordinates and implements plans and policies to ensure facilities and programs are in compliance with established safety, fire, and environmental directives. Coordinates with marketing staff to plan and develop promotions and advertising, commercial sponsorship, and publicity strategies. Coordinates and implements joint programs with other Semper Fit and MCCS activities. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree, or enrollment as a college senior in an accredited institution, is required in one of the following areas: Health Promotions, Health Education, Nutrition, Public Health, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Sports Management, Psychology/Sports Psychology or a related field. NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and USAW Level 1 must be obtained within first 12 months of employment. Three years' strength & conditioning coaching experience with collegiate, elite, or tactical athletes required. Experience with sports psychology and/or sports behavioral modification programs preferred. Experience working with nationally recognized sport's governing organizations preferred. Certifications in CPR, AED, and first aid must be obtained and kept current throughout employment. Competency in public speaking, professional writing, computer literacy, and desktop publishing skills are preferred. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and carry objects over 45lbs with assistance may be required. A valid driver's license and the ability to drive is required.
