Major duties

Acts as a senior lead to the J6 Citizen Development process improvement and automation program developing robotic process automation (RPA) and/or ServiceNow (SNow) workflow automation. Works as a lead for RPA and SNow to reduce manual work and eliminate process inefficiencies to streamline repetitive and transactional processes. Serves as Strategic IT Business Operations (J6T) senior process automation expert advising and consulting on all aspects of process improvement methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma (LSS), RPA and SNow process automation. Leads J6 program and projects advising and consulting on all aspects of process improvement, leading and facilitating projects and events. Provides technical direction on initiative/project methodology selection, initiative/project management, team building, facilitation, process analysis, and business case development. Works with JG Enterprise Service Areas (ESA) to understand policies and processes.

Qualification

To qualify for a Strategic Process Automation Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cutoff/ closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Provides support in the management of the overall process improvement capabilities for the organization, including LSS CPI, RPA, and SNow. Identifies, documents, and assesses potential projects for process improvement or automation. Reviews project completion elements (policies, processes and procedures, controls, tools, and human capital) necessary to ensure the end-to-end IT business processes are standardized, repeatable, and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
