Job summary

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as the Staff Integration Coordinator within the Operations Directorate (J-3), Headquarters US Africa Command (HQ AFRICOM), integrating information, specifically as a Process and System Integration (PSI) program manager.

Major duties

Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing integrated directorate business processes and systems within the division to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Integrate the director's decision-making process, enhancing current and future operations/plans and campaigning efforts. Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develops training materials and conducts training sessions on new processes and systems. Promote, monitor, and evaluate the effective employment of information management systems as they apply to PSI and implements improvements in people, processes, and tools/technology.

Qualification

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 36 months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition." Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing detailed implementation plans that integrate multiple programs and processes, and applying appropriate program evaluation and measurement techniques; 2) Researching policies to prepare recommendations for current Integration program initiatives; 3) Utilizing automated systems such as Task Management tool (TMT). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Planning and Evaluating Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
