This position is a Term Appointment NTE. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 3 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. Major duties

Provides a full range of prevention, community education, direct services, and liaison with other installation, military services, state and/or local services. Utilizing evidence-based principles, theories, and techniques for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychological distress or disfunction to promote overall wellbeing and personal development. Provides screening, assessment, and confidential brief solution focused non-medical counseling services. Provides resources and referrals as appropriate. Maintains current listings and up-to-date knowledge of existing community services and established procedures for liaison and referral between agencies with Medical Treatment Facility. Plans, implements, and manages outreach initiatives for the Army community. Facilitates evidence-based psycho-educational groups, classes, and workshops that focus on both prevention and intervention. Combines program development and evaluation with service functions. Communicates with and advises supported command team on trends and issues observed with the supported unit.

Qualification

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements: Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: Experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes the following tasks: (1) Evaluations and/or providing treatment to patients to adopt healthy behaviors, (2) Conducting behavioral health clinical evaluations, and (3) Tracking services provided to patients. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
