Major duties

NON-APPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Single Marine Program (SMP) Coordinator JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF-03 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers and directs a comprehensive program targeting single Marines. Oversees the operational commitments of the Single Marine Program (SMP), coordinating between 20-200 Marines and sailors at any given time. Coordinates schedules, plans, and publicity for events. Fosters acceptable peer relationships through a program of social events and activities such as community and special events, parties, etc. Facilitates monthly SMP meeting including focus groups and strategic planning sessions at the camp/station level. Provides expertise, assistance, checklist and operational continuity to any branch that is responsible to develop, coordinate and publish specific Letter of Instruction, a Standing Operating Procedure, or Single Marine planning Meetings directives relating to the Single Marine Program. Recommends programs, events, and procedures, and problem identification and resolution. Maintains Direct Support Stock Control and Semper Fit Administrative International Merchant Purchase Authorization Card accounts/purchases. Prepares, types, and files correspondence, reports and other materials. Compiles data/statistics for after-action reports. Maintains files, ensures correspondence is stored in proper SSIC sequence and ensures correspondence is maintained. Maintains Consolidated Memorandum Receipt for Single Marine Program Property, control logs for movie checkouts/returns, fundraiser financial, and Quality of Life issues. Prepares monthly schedule of Single Marine events, weekly reports and end of month usage reports. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUREMENTS: Four years of related recreation experience which demonstrates the following: knowledge of principles, techniques, and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning, administering, and conducting activities which focuses on improving Quality of Life. A degree in the field of recreation, business management, communication or psychology may be substituted for work experience. QUALIFICATION REQUREMENTS: Must possess excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, tact, and problem-solving abilities, a team player and actively looking for a way to help people. Knowledge in technical areas of recreation, communication and business management is desirable. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment Must possess intermediate level ability in Microsoft programs. Strong command of the English language to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have or able to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays. Travel may be required to oversee SMP trips. May be assigned and/or transferred to other camps across Okinawa. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
