Job summary
About the Position: Provide complete life cycle support to USEUCOM military and civilian personnel and families including sponsorship, in-processing and out-processing, and administrative support requirements as well as to provide clerical and technical services to support projects, initiatives, and the mission of the HQ Commandant Office.
Major duties
Develop comprehensive plans for the integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions and activities requiring the involvement of the HQ USEUCOM Commandant. Serve as an administrative assistant in the Joint Personnel Reception Center (in and out processing). Analyze procedures for the command sponsorship program, in and out-processing programs and administrative support requirements for civilians and service members in accordance with DoD, Army, IMCOM and USAREUR directives and guidance. Manage staff actions and provide comprehensive briefs to the Commandant. Review foreign and domestic official travel in the DTS system to identify discrepancies. (i.e. per diem rates, travel compensation time, claim amounts etc.). Research information from the Commandant's personal and official files and records for meetings, speeches, reports, and the like.
Qualification
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 2 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Utilizing automated office software systems to produce office correspondence i.e., reports, charts, spreadsheets and monitor staff activities; 2) coordinating meetings, briefings, conferences and/or travel arrangements; 3) creating information packets for personnel new to an agency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Clerical Manages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
