Job summary
About the Position: This Safety and Occupational Health Specialist is located at White Sands Missile Range Commanding General with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, Dona Ana New Mexico. Major duties
Serve as a safety and occupational health specialist responsible for evaluating areas such as safety, health projects and programs over the installation's 4000 square miles in support of the White Sands Missile Range Commander. Support the Installation Safety Director in areas such as the development and enforcement of the White Sands Missile Range Safety Program. Evaluate the effectiveness of Safety and Occupational Health programs for the installation. Develop plans such as those related to health and safety awareness for operations on White Sands Missile Range.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Manage safety and occupational health programs, in areas such as: Range Safety, System Safety, and Chemical Safety; 2) Assist in safety inspections/surveys to ensure program compliance; AND 3) Provide training on Occupational Safety and Health Administration procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
