Job summary

NOTICE: NAF positions are currently under a Federally mandated hiring freeze. No referrals are being made at this time. STANDING REGISTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Applications will be reviewed, and referrals made every 7 days. About the position: This position is located the Galaxy Club, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. Coordinates and assists with base-wide events that involve the Club Complex. Is required to serve as project officer for events.

Major duties

Assists the Club Manager to develop and execute, through assigned staff, programs which support singles, families, and special groups such as retirees, spouses, and private organizations. Coordinates and assists with base-wide events that involve the Club Complex for Food Truck Rallies, weekly and monthly event programming. Is required to serve as project officer for these events. Carries out recurring group activities; assists in the set up and use of facilities, equipment, and materials. All programs must function within the limitations of funds, equipment, and space. On a regular basis, assist the Club Manager in developing new, improved and reoccurring events calendar. Coordinates with 100 FSS Marketing and Publicity to determine customers' needs and special interests. Ensures all club activities are advertised in a manner designed to maximize participation of serviced populace. Coordinates with 100 FSS Marketing and Publicity and the Public Affairs office in furnishing explicit details of programs to be advertised. Also responsible for uploading and tracking club event tickets in the marketing ticket system, reviewing for accuracy, coordinating with club staff and obtaining final approval from the Club Manager. Conducts joint activities with other base organizations and the local community. Arranges for the recruitment, training, utilization and retention of volunteers for club special events when needed. Ensures an adequate number of volunteers exist to provide services needed. Reports number of active and in-active participants to the club manager. Attends meetings to promote programs for the benefit of base personnel. Ensures that posters and fliers are accurate and displayed in facilities to ensure maximum coverage. Evaluates by using tools available and works to improve the effectiveness of ongoing programs from the standpoint of participant response. Ensures supplies, space, and services are available for support of planned programs. Reviews facility/equipment, ensuring all materials and areas are adequate for the safe conduct of the planned activity by customers. Selects, assigns, and supervises volunteer staff and contracted instructors for events and provides input to club manager. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of the range of activities and services, of participation interests and needs, and of the methods and processes involved in typical and conventional club programming, which knowledge enables the employee to plan and conduct a variety of basic and some enhanced activities and services of a military club. Ability to communicate, organize, and oversee programs to conclusion. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Preferred: At least 6-months of club event program planning or commercial event planning experience. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a T1 background investigation. You will be evaluated on the basis of your suitability and fitness for the position.
