Job summary
You will serve as a RANGE OPERATIONS ASSISTANT in the PROTECTION SUPPORT OPERATIONS of NS NORFOLK SECURITY DETACHMENT.
Major duties
You will collect and update information in a Range Facility Management Scheduler database or similar database. You will develop training related schedules or reports using automated systems. You will schedule required training to track requirements and maintain records for employees. You will compose administrative directives, reports, and records contributing to the efficiency of the division operations.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apply safety standards and manuals that includes small arms, explosives, and ammo handling during training and development. 2) Monitor emergency response procedures, properly document mishaps, and commence associated investigations while executing proper procedures. 3) Assist Range Officer in establishing local safety policies/procedures in relation to facilitating training programs. 4) Provides range administration support: range scheduling, hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene compliance, small arms/range maintenance cleaning, small arms brass cleaning, and brass and debris disposal in accordance with policies and procedures. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
