Major duties
Performs mathematical calculations by various means of applying trigonometry, geometry, and algebra to determine angles, coordinates of critical dimensions, curves, clearances, and dimensional fits. Operates Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) machines of various types, sizes, and manufacturers. Conducts measuring techniques and preliminary plans for inspection. Reviews engineering blueprints to check for accuracy. Develops inspection requirements for single and multiple operations. Provides the lower grade personnel with technical assistance.
Qualification
Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six(6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Applied Mathematics Communications Leadership Quality Assurance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-11, must have 52 weeks at the GS-10 (or equivalent) For the GS-12, must have 52 weeks at the GS-11 (or equivalent)
