About the Position: Serve as a Purchasing Agent for the U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION - DUTY STATION IS JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WASHINGTON.

Major duties

Duties listed below are at the full performance level GS-1105-07: Monitor and administer contract actions for overall compliance, financial resource allocations, and satisfactory performance. Communicate with employees in the same activity but outside the immediate organization. Provide requester with best sources for individual acquisitions based on experience, market knowledge, and vendor database research. Collect data to determine price reasonableness, suggest revisions to specifications insure adequacy. Use various solicitation methods depending on type, quantity, dollar value, or urgency of requirement. Make selections on whether to use existing contracts or open market procedures when soliciting quotes. Execute transactions from initiation of recommendation for award, procurement of service, supplies, equipment and other material.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing standardized purchasing regulations, policies, or business practices to assist in procuring resources to meet mission requirements; AND 2) Assisting with procurement duties in various phases to complete the cradle to grave procurement process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Utilizing standardized purchasing regulations, policies, or business practices to procure resources to meet mission requirements; 2) Performing procurement duties in various phases to complete the cradle to grave procurement process; AND 3) Determining the method of procurement including the appropriate clauses or provisions to meet mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
