Job summary
About the Position: This position is with the US Delegation to the NATO Military Committee (USMILDEL), located at NATO HQ in Brussels, Belgium. NATO is a political and military Alliance uniting 32 countries from North America and Europe. Every day civilian and military representatives of all NATO member countries meet to analyze threats, draw plans, discuss policies, and share information. USMILDEL is in central Belgium with the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, and Germany within a day's drive.
Major duties
Serves as the Protocol Officer to the U.S. Military Representative to NATO Headquarters (USMILREP) and Deputy U.S. Military Representative (Deputy USMILREP). Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all protocol functions and for the administrative, and logistical support and coordination of the distinguished visitors (DV) and VIP program. Advises the Command and staff on all matters of protocol. Manages and oversees all activities within the protocol office, directs team members within the Protocol Office and coordinates work requirements Analyzes and interprets protocol guidelines and policies. Oversees the development, management, and execution of the Protocol Office annual operation budget. Provides photography support for functions, events, and ceremonies officiated by the USMILREP and Deputy USMILREP

Monitor official events and visits. Provide briefings. Maintain conference room schedules and equipment requests. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: - Protocol Functions - Visitor Support - Administration/Conference Support - Office Automation - Oral and Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education
