Job summary

Major duties
Serves as a life cycle Project Manager, with overall responsibility for managing the planning, scoping, development, design, construction and direction of important civil works/military projects. Serves as Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Negotiates and integrates all district functions (i.e., planning, design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, contracting), sponsor/customer needs, and other agencies commitments. Controls project milestones and budgets from planning through construction. Reviews project progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost. Reviews and approves, within authorities provided, project cost and schedule changes. Provides status reports on projects assigned (progress, issues, and trends) to the district corporate leadership (Project Review Board).

Specialized experience is defined as: Managing the development of plans and the delivery of completed projects for all aspects of military/civil works; Implementing corporate decisions, laws, regulations, and policy in the development of the projects; Managing project progress to ensure appropriate business processes are followed and timelines met and to ensure adherence to criteria, scope, schedules, budget, safety, and environmental regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level/position in the Federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Budget Administration Decision Making Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
