Job summary

The selectee for this position will serve as a Production Controller (Mechanical) in the Mechanical Planning Branch (TRF-425), Maintenance Planning Division (TRF-420), Planning Department (TRF-400) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Major duties

You will be responsible for the planning of corrective, preventive maintenance and alterations with mechanical systems and components. You will utilize electronic databases to locate/interpret logistics technical documents. You will identify material requirements, technical requirements, and procedures in the performance of maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, or overhaul of systems. You will monitor maintenance work accomplishments and perform status reports to keep internal codes and external activities informed of planning and implementation efforts and milestones. You will assure that necessary follow-up actions are uniformly carried out for all maintenance work assigned so as to facilitate or improve subsequent maintenance operations. You will perform related duties including quality control coordination tasks required to ensure the quality of products and services.

GS-10 To qualify for the Production Controller (Mech), GS-1152-10 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with TRIPER, TRIDENT Class Maintenance Plan, and 3M requirements and policies to process TRIPER Component Refurbishments/Planned Maintenance Requirements and corrective maintenance requests. Experience planning and executing nuclear submarine refit maintenance actions and alterations to avoid production delays, schedule conflicts, lack of material, or trade/skill imbalances Experience with testing requirements, URO requirements and REC processes to ensure maintenance is performed satisfactorily to enable recertification of the ship. Experience with conflict resolution and coordination of maintenance requirements and completion of time-critical maintenance issues. GS-09 To qualify for the Production Controller (Mech), GS-1152-09 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying technical knowledge of complex systems, sub-systems, and components which comprise TRIDENT Class and non-TRIDENT naval platforms to develop and implement the techniques and methodologies essential to support production planning and scheduling. Experience with FWP and CWP preparation to verify work request information is correct, experience with projects and refit maintenance scheduling requirements and integrated scheduling priorities. Experience planning, scheduling, monitoring, working and performing status reporting, resolving problems/conflicts, and assuring the timely and effective performance of assigned preventative maintenance (PM's) and Corrective Maintenance (CM's) by the Maintenance Division Shops within the specified time periods and reporting periods/ availability. Experience performing various production control tasks associated with administering immediate control over maintenance and repair operations.
