Job summary
You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER in the Business and Strategic Planning Office, Business Operations Division of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Major duties
You will maintain the work package and certify that all authorized work is communicated to the Engineering and Planning Department. You will monitor material ordering; authorize issuance of job orders; determine that all necessary information (scope-of-work, funds, duration and completion dates) concerning the project is available or is requested. You will authorize the issuance of job orders after reviewing for conformance to customer requirements and funds limitations. You will evaluate reports submitted by production shops or private sector contractors to determine appropriate action to be taken which includes changes in scope, cost estimates, additional material ordering, drawing revisions, and schedule changes. You will act as the funds administrator for assigned projects administering funds for assigned work on both cost reimbursable and fixed price basis. You will review and concur with estimates for direct labor man-hours. You will conduct periodic funding reviews including identification of and redial action for shortfalls or over expenditures.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying production control principles, techniques, and methodologies to plan, schedule, and administer funds for ship or submarine repair projects and resolving production obstacles (e.g., delays, scheduling conflicts, lack of sufficient materials, faulty processes, labor shortages, skilled trade imbalances).
