Job summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility MacDill Air Force Base East located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. This position may offer a $10,000 recruitment bonus (see Additional Information Section).

Repairing and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders and systems and pneumatic systems Testing pressure safety devices Repairing a variety of power support systems Servicing and repairing of air conditioning in vehicles Servicing of industrial and domestic reach-in and walk-in refrigerators Repairing electrical and transistorized systems in AC and DC applications

Who May Apply: US Citizens This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for DoD Maintenance Activities. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Powered Support Systems Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. troubleshooting and repairing a variety of power support systems and equipment; troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment; and servicing and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration units - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: Performs work which involves frequent bending, reaching, crouching, standing and arm movement. Frequently works in awkward positions or cramped areas. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to about 50 pounds and lifts heavier items using jacks, hoists, or helpers. Working Conditions: Works inside or outside. Frequently exposed to drafts, changing temperature and loud noise. Works on parts or systems that are dirty and greasy and is frequently exposed to the possibility of receiving cuts, burns, bruises, strains, and electrical shock. Uses safety equipment such as protective eyeglasses, ear devices, hard hats, hard toe shoes, face masks, respirators, gloves and protective clothing. May occasionally be exposed to toxic refrigerants.
