Job summary
Serves as the Materials Handler (FLO) in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the receiving, storing, checking, re-warehousing, stock-picking, palletizing, packaging, and shipping a large variety of line items of perishable and semi-perishable subsistence.
Major duties
Receives incoming property, equipment and subsistence items in trailers or vans. Prepares shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems. Documents and reports overages, shortages, or damaged items to supervisor. Operates forklifts, pallet jacks to receive, or deliver merchandise. Stores and rotates product using proper inventory techniques and procedures. Insures that received merchandise, supplies, and equipment are properly accounted for and matches the contents of shipment against the appropriate documents for verification. Examples of qualifying experience: Ability to operate a fork lift. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. Perform job duties accurately, quickly, and without accidents. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing from 60 to 70 pounds. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire. Evaluations
HR reviews your documents to determine if you are qualified and meet requirements. Your questionnaire score is a preliminary measure of how well your background matches the required competencies.
