Major duties

You will perform complex aspects of masonry. You will independently plan, layout the work to be done, select the proper tools, determine methods/materials to be used, and accomplish the work in accordance with approved methods. You will interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, surveys, work orders, and/or sketches. You will plan, lay out and fabricate forms, mix, pour and finish a variety of cement and concrete surfaces and structures. You will construct windowsills, mantles, and arches capable of supporting the walls above the openings. Qualification

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A MASON WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION INCLUDING: 1) Lay a variety of brick, block, and stone (e.g. firebrick, structural tile, concrete blocks, glass blocks, terra cotta and artificial and natural stone) to repair items such as partitions, walls, walkways, manholes, boilers, catch basins, chimneys, and fireplaces; 2) Work from oral instructions, blueprints, work orders, and rough sketches to complete assigned tasks; AND 3) Use a variety of hand and power tools such as trowels, mixers, chisels, hammers, crowbars, brick or skill saws, axes, and picks to remove or prepare walls for repair and cut and shape brick and stone. **Note: This information must be supported in your resume.
