Job summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties

You will install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. You will diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and correct problems. You will inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with National Electric Codes, Unified Facilities Criteria, State and Local requirements, etc. You will test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. You will utilize construction practices of electronic equipment in order to recognize types and sizes of resistors, capacitors, wiring, and transistors.

Qualification

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF AN MAINTENANCE MECHANIC WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION INCLUDING: 1) Troubleshooting, repairing and installing a variety of industrial systems and equipment such as electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm systems, security monitoring and access systems, closed circuit TV monitor systems, and personal computer systems, etc.; 2) Ensuring work is in compliance with specifications and completed within required time frames; 3) Locating, repairing malfunctions of systems and testing completed work; 4) Utilizing standard test procedures, schematics, test/computer program instructions, technical manuals and technical change directives to complete assignments. ****NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume.
