Job summary
This position is located at the School Age Center. Hours subject but not limited to: 6:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Occasional Weekends APPLICATIONS WILL BE PULLED EVERY THURSDAY AT 8:00AM UNTIL POSITIONS ARE FILLED.
Major duties
Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc, moves heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, handtruck, or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons where directed. Using a shovel, digs ditches and trenches where a pick is not needed to loosen the dirt, and where grading and sloping is not required; fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and low places, using shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Runs hand lawnmowers or (domestic type) powered lawnmowers, when this does not require heavy physical effort (for example, on steep grades); clears small trees and bushes, using handsaw, hatchet, or clipper. Moves and arranges furniture as directed; assembles items purchase; shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or power buffer. Changes filters; replace cartridges; removes items from center; supports centers with basic maintenance Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: No previous experience or training is required. Ability to use, control, and clean common handtools, and simple power equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds, and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
