Job summary

Major duties

You will conduct and participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the range infrastructure. You will ensure that system hardware, operation systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies. You will be responsible for hardening Windows and Linux systems per requirements, to include Operating System (OS) patching, software patching, and anti-virus software management. You will be involved in installing and programming routers and multi-layer network switches, to include routing, plans, and managing Access Control Lists.

Qualification

DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Supporting the implementation and execution of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures; 2) Providing provision, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related range support infrastructure; 3) Evaluating information systems to ensure system security is compliant with requirements; 4) Managing multiple projects/efforts to effectively implement cybersecurity compliance across the Department. DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band (DS-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Supporting the implementation and execution of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures; 2) Assisting with provision, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related range support infrastructure; 3) Assisting with evaluating information systems to ensure system security is compliant with requirements; 4) Assisting with managing multiple projects/efforts to effectively implement cybersecurity compliance across the Department. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: DS-04: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree DS-03: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of (36 hours) progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (https://www.ed.gov/).
