Major duties
Develops application security plans, policy guidance, operations regulations, and procedures to ensure Information Assurance (IA) regulatory requirements are followed in support of assigned applications and systems. Provides assistance and guidance on Risk Management Framework and prepares certification and accreditation packages via the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system. Plans and implements a security program that supports the Agency’s financial management and information technology goals and objectives. Oversees the installation, operation, configuration, maintenance, usage of security software, and implements security countermeasures. Conducts independent security control assessment procedures to confirm, test, evaluate, examine, and ensure security controls are in place.

Specialized experience is defined as: Identifying, implementing, testing and remediating technical security requirements for assigned technologies and environments; interpreting, managing, or facilitating changes to cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies and procedures; providing guidance to I&T management, staff and customers on information assurance (IA) policies and procedures; and installing, operating, and configuring security software and countermeasures. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
