Job summary
You will serve as a INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST in the Lejeune Leadership Institute of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Major duties
You will be responsible for developing and delivering effective leadership training programs supporting Marines and civilian employees of the Marine Corps. You will be for providing guidance and support to instructors. You will develop and design instructional materials, courses, and programs for training Marine Corps personnel, both in classroom and online utilizing the Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design/Systems Approach to Training and Education You will plan, coordinate, and perform learning analyses with LLI POI managers to determine learning objectives and task learning relationships, cluster learning events, organize course content, and develop instruction design plans. You will develop, implement, and maintain LLI curricula materials which includes lesson plans, instructor preparation guides, student handouts, classroom media, concept cards, and training aids. You will collaborate with program managers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and presentations summarizing findings, trends, and recommendations for program improvement.
Qualification
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing the development of all training support packages including assessments, practical exercises, lesson plans, job aids, etc., recommend valid training development and improvement methodologies to training center leadership for implementation into courseware; and utilize technological advancements and emerging training programs to develop courses or courseware. Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess (Basic Requirements) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the GS-11 position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
