Job summary

This INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST (COORDINATOR) position, is located in an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing Inspector General (IG) Office and is part of the CA 129 RQW. This is an open until filled announcement. The announcement will be posted until all positions have been filled. Major duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST (COORDINATOR), GS-1801-10, is to serve as The Inspection System of the Air Force analyst for the IG, managing the Self-Assessment program, providing feedback to FAMs on checklist quality, and compiling information from Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT), Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS), Inspector General Evaluation Management System - Classified (IGEMS-C), and all current automated systems, to ensure wing/squadron/flight commanders, the wing IG, and inspectors have all required information for directing the Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP). May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Areas(s) of Consideration: Consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: E-5 through E-7 E-5 must be immediately promotable to E-7, and must promote prior to appointment Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to funding and approval. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course Inspections (IGTC-I) & Inspector General Training Course Complaints Resolution (IGTC-Q) within 180 days of appointment. IG appointees for nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspector Course within 180 days of assignment.

Qualification

General Experience: Possess experience with military inspection programs and a basic understanding of military missions, service structures, capabilities, and organizational functions. INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST (COORDINATOR), GS-1801-10: Must have one year experience equivalent to at least the next lower level that plans, organizes, and executes a wide range of complex activities for the wing CCIP, which includes planning and conducting inspections, installation mission assurance exercises, and comprehensive readiness exercises that involve coordination with a wide variety of programs and departments; Experience utilizing metrics and analysis systems to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures; Experience interpreting complex laws, Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Air Force (DAF), gaining MAJCOM, National Guard Bureau (NGB), State, wing, and local instructions/regulations relating to deficiencies across all functional areas subject to inspection.
