Job summary
You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the IT PROGRAMS & SYSTEMS BRANCH, IT DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of CDR NAVY REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Major duties
You will develop policy, budgets, and procedures governing effectiveness and efficiency of data systems. You will initiate, plan, direct and conduct comprehensive studies and reviews to advise leadership on maintenance data system design and performance based on that analysis. You will use data analysis and other techniques to provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance data system applications. You will Initiate budgets and provide input for operation and sustainment, training, testing and re-platform of applicable programs. You will establish metrics to measure and evaluate system performance and total cost of ownership. You will monitor performance and provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of systems. You will utilize database systems to determine resource requirements. You will provide proposals to senior management and stakeholders to improve applications to support operations and utilize emerging technologies. You will identify and specify business process requirements and to define opportunities for new or improved process solutions. You will identify potential problem areas, trends, processes, procedures and efficiencies of data system applications. You will identify opportunities to improve data system applications to support operations and utilize emerging technologies. You will identify skill sets and manpower needed to maintain applications. You will solve technical information system and administrative problems. You will resolve unusual/difficult issues significantly impacting important policies or programs.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing the performance of maintenance data programs to determine the effectiveness and efficacy for ship operations. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
