Job summary
About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Human Resources Division, and is located in Falls Church, VA. This is not a remote position. Salary negotiation MAY be available to those highly qualified candidates who are new to Federal service.
Major duties
Assist the Information Systems Manager with directing the daily activities of the configuration and operation of the personnel management information system(s). Participate in testing system releases to troubleshoot for software implementation, operational problems, and user problems. Create human resources (HR) reports using a variety of automated tools to communicate HR metrics. Work with other branches in the agency to maintain and prepare manpower reports. Make recommendations for improved data collection and reporting methods. Provide advisory services in the spectrum of data analytics for HR support programs. Monitor the operations and maintenance of the HR system(s). Manage the granting and revocation of access to Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for DHA staff. Provide support for web-based HR tools such as customer support portals, automated SharePoint workflows and related tools, and Defense Medical Human Resources System Internet (DMHRSi). Implement new releases of system software to include distributing information on updated releases to all users. Provide technical advice to personnel to ensure timely implementation and deployment of new subsystems and/or enhancements to existing systems. Coordinate system enhancements provided by system releases.

Although not required, experience developing queries and/or databases is preferred. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Literacy Customer Service HR Information Systems Technology Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
