About U.S. Army Sustainment Command

The 401st Army Field Support’s mission is to leverage the power of the Army Materiel Command (AMC) and the entire Materiel Enterprise to support the readiness of U.S. Army Central Command (ARCENT). As part of the ARCENT team, the 401st provides logistics support to military and government agencies working to build readiness and security capacity in the region. We accomplish this mission by integrating and synchronizing the reach back capability of the AMC Life Cycle Management Commands (LCMCs) and Program managers under the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA-ALT). Today, the Battalion operates within the ARCENT Area of Operation (AOR) in countries such as Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and UAE supporting joint military forces and government agencies such as the U.S. Department of State.

This position is an unaccompanied tour with the 401st Army Field Support located at Camp Arifjan Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan shield. This is an Emergency Essential position. RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION/INCENTIVE - May be requested and may be authorized up to 25% of base salary per year to be paid bi-weekly.

Major duties

Formulate and enforce directives related to housing assignments, terminations, inspections, maintenance, and cleanliness. Supervise tenant adherence to policies and recommend corrective actions for non-compliance. Coordinate maintenance, renovations, and utilization of housing assets to ensure timely upkeep and operational efficiency ties. Evaluate performance of the infrastructure management, housing customer services, billeting, and furnishings-management. Track and monitor the utilization of housing assets, including occupancy rates, furnishings, and supplies, to ensure efficient resource allocation. Recommend corrective actions to the command for tenants who fail to follow housing policies and guidelines. Formulate tenant directives within the framework of installation housing requirements concerning assignments, terminations, inspections, maintenance, cleanliness, and all other housing activities. Coordinate the operation, maintenance, and utilization of housing assets within AFSB and other installation organizations. Review requests for housing assignments, terminations, or relocations, and determine suitability based on available resources and tenant eligibility.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring the oversight of day-to-day housing operations to ensure tenant compliance; reviewing budget plans in order to maintain repairs and improvements of housing facilities; applying housing management principles/concepts to a variety of complex assignments involving the full range of housing activities (such as operations and maintenance, cost management and financial planning, assignments and use, inspections and special surveys, construction and improvements, management-tenant relations, referral services and furnishings management) AND recommending improvements to housing policies to benefit housing programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Housing Management Program Administration Housing Operations Housing Requirements Determination and Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). If you are a current Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF-50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement.
