Job summary

You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in the COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAMS, BACHELOR HOUSING of NAVBASE POINT LOMA.

Major duties

You will prepare reports (e.g., base loading, inventory, usage, and occupancy) to provide housing trends and decision tools to command and regional program managers. You will prepare appropriate housing reports or documentation concerning occupancy, vacancy, placement or other related activities. You will advise incoming personnel on types of housing available (e.g., eligibility for number of bedrooms, turn-down options, tenant rights and obligations, procedures) for on and off base moves. You will collaborate with management officials (e.g., public and private housing representatives, law enforcement agencies) to maintain effective working relationships with community organizations affecting off-base housing.

Qualification

For the GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring proper customer service and compliance with appropriate mandates of the Housing Program; 2) Receiving and processing complaints and related investigations concerning residents; 3) Processing requests for permanent and temporary quarters; 4) Scheduling and coordinating the maintenance and repair of housing units and conducting follow-up inspections to verify that discrepancies are corrected. NOTE: This experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for this position. For the GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with complaints concerning residents; 2) Assisting applicants with their housing needs; and 3) Evaluating the cleanliness, maintenance, and habitability of housing units. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: For the GS-07 Successful completion of a 1 full year of graduate level education OR Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience For the GS-05 Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
