The mission of the 47th Medical Group at Laughlin Air Force Base is to support the 47th Flying Training Wing’s medical, dental and aeromedical needs in support of Laughlin’s Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training mission. The medical group is responsible for the health care of more than 3,400 Department of Defense (DoD) beneficiaries and ensuring the medical readiness mission for wartime and worldwide contingencies.

Job summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will serve as a Health Technician at the U.S. Army Health Clinic located in Stuttgart, Germany.

Major duties

Provides appointment finding functions for specialist medical care within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and other host nation providers. Reviews patient health insurance information to determine eligibility for various types of specialty care. Monitors patient records and insurance information. Coordinates with between the MTF and host nation care providers as applicable. Tracks and ensures that patient healthcare records are transferred to the proper health care facility, if healthcare is being providing by a host nation provider. Serves a point of contact for patients in regards to insurance, billing, and any other pertinent information related to specialty care.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service coordinating specialty appointments at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) utilizing automated systems to verify and process patient insurance information, coordinate appointments with external MTFs that provide special treatment services, and serve as a point of contact for patients in regards to billing and other pertinent medical information required for specialty care. Some positions allow for a substitution of education for experience. This position does not allow for substitution of education for experience.
