Job summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties

You will develop, review, and negotiate modifications to original and new work specifications to be accomplished by the contractor and will provide detailed cost estimates including labor, material, and time, with all required supporting data. You will evaluate work performed by the contractor for compliance to applicable plans, specifications, and all contractual requirements. You will assist in pre-award surveys to evaluate private contractor capability to perform the requirements of overhaul and repair contracts. You will assist in the administration of the safety and fire prevention and environmental protection programs. You will ensure all facets of work performed meet contract standards and provide recommendations to the Quality Assurance Office for contractor performance evaluations (CPE) on all contracts administered. You will witness testing upon completion of work to ensure that complex ship systems are functioning to design requirements and ensure that rest results are documented. You will participate is Design Reviews to ensure that productivity and maintainability are considered in developing the design approach as well as in the detailed drawings for implementing the design.

Qualification

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and executing evaluations or surveillance of shipbuilding or ship repair contracts to ensure conformance of products and services to contractual and specification requirements.
