Job summary

You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Regional N3 Operations Office of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.

Major duties

You will administer a fire protection and prevention training program (e.g., structural firefighting, aircraft crash and rescue response, fire prevention and emergency medical services, etc.) for a fire department. You will oversee firefighting training areas (e.g., live fire, mobile or fixed training devices inspections, testing, certification and maintenance programs) for an organization You will develop an annual training budget according to fire preventive or protection program requirements. You will inspect a fire station to verify training objectives are accomplished and documented.

Qualification

*This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer I & II, Fire Instructor I & II, Fire Inspector I & II, Airport Firefighter and HAZMAT Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications, you will be rated ineligible.* Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develops training for all areas of Fire and Emergency Services (i.e. structural firefighting, aircraft firefighting, wildland firefighting, hazardous materials, and emergency medical care); 2) Conducts inspections to ensure training objectives are being accomplished; 3) Ensures safety guidelines are being implemented across all fire stations; 4) Identifies safety deficiencies and/or recommending corrective action.
