Job summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties
You will develop and complete fire prevention inspections, and develop educational programs. You will conduct physical inspections of large highly fire prone post and range facilities including mission related facilities. You will inspect/ test a wide variety of installed fire protection systems that include automatic heat detection, automatic smoke detection and dry chemicals extinguishers. You will deny or permit special work projects based on determinations that fire hazards exist or has been eliminated. You will review work requests involving alteration and extension of existing facilities; recommend changes and additions to ensure compliance with fire prevention requirements.
Qualification
GS-08: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Inspecting, testing and maintaining fire protection equipment; Detecting hazards and providing proper corrective action; Working with, proper storing and handling of combustible and hazardous materials; investigating origin, causes and spread of fires; and Providing training to both fire department personnel and external fire department customers. GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Inspecting, testing and maintaining fire protection equipment; Detecting hazards and providing proper corrective action; working with, proper storing and handling of combustible and hazardous materials; investigating origin, causes and spread of fires.
