Job summary
You will serve as a Financial Specialist (GG-12) performing budget administration and execution duties in support of Naval Oceangraphic Office (NAVO) in executing annual appropriations. This position is located at Stennis Space Center, MS.
Major duties
You will perform and advise the senior Comptroller leadership on work in all phases or systems of budget administration. You will be responsible for formulation of budget and estimates to support the plans, programs and activities . You will present and defend budget estimates before management. You will review and evaluate budget requirements for the organization. You will perform a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative work for substantive programs and support activities.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Reviewing budgetary and financial documentation for accuracy and recommending corrective action when needed; 2) Preparing financial reports and tracking funds using financial management systems; 3) Formulating, presenting and defending budget estimates to support plans, programs and activities; 4) Implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budget to ensure organizational compliance.
