Job summary

You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST. You will be part of an Accounting Team to manage day to day operations of the Accounting in NRNW ERP and additional duties assigned (invoice, reimbursement and property).

Major duties

You will advise others on financial transactions to ensure efficient use of funds. You will evaluate the allocation of funds to ensure compliance with budget and financial policies. You will compile data from financial management systems for justification of funding recommendations. You will create financial reports by compiling and generating data from Access databases. You will use an office automation software program to compose financial reports providing status updates or business information (ERP, CFMS, WAWF or SABRS). You will use software capabilities (e.g., Excel, Access, or similar software) to process, review, and report on financial data. You will manage day to day operations of the NRNW Accounting responsibilities. You will have knowledge of the accounting principles and analytical skills to research and clear errors.

Qualification

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations; 2) Reviewing, inspecting, and evaluating financial information; 3) Controlling and reporting obligations and expenditures; 4) Providing advice and guidance with NRNW staff to correct ERP; and 5) Communicating policies, procedures, and program updates to stakeholders. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting regulations, policies, and operating instructions as they relate to Financial Management; 2) Generating and reviewing financial reports; and 3) Reconciling financial transactions within financial systems. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: FOR THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%. FOR THE GS-09 GRADE LEVEL: Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree. OR Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
