Job summary

Major duties

You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will formulate budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities. You will review and evaluate budget requests; control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization’s programs and administrative operations. You will apply concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and/or financing. You will develop, recommend and implement budgetary/financial policies.

Qualification

FOR GS-13: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying mastery and expert level knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and financing and their relation to subordinate and senior levels; 2) Developing, recommending and implementing budgetary and financial policies; 3) Planning, formulating, and executing of a program's resource and budget requirements; 4) Providing advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities 5) Expert in various financial systems (i.e. Navy ERP/PBIS). FOR GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying comprehensive knowledge of budgetary and financial policies, practices, precedents, procedures, and regulations; 2) Analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations; 3) Familiarity with financial systems/databases; 4) Performing related fiscal, accounting, budget, or financial management duties.
