Job summary
You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the ACCOUNTING DIVISION (CODE 613), COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will perform analytical work pertaining to accounting or financial oversight. You will provide information about and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations. You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems. You will review posting of obligations and expenditures.
Qualification
To qualify for the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST, GS-0501-09 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing analytical work pertaining to accounting or financial oversight. Experience applying policies, precedents, regulations, and guidelines of a functional area such as financial oversight, accounting or budget. Experience carrying out assignments pertaining to accounting, budget or financial practices. Experience performing specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems. Experience following work procedures to perform accounting functions and to resolve identified problems of a procedural or factual nature. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify for the GS-09 position with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related NOTE: One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
