Job summary
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Test Engineering Division, Code 246, Engineering and Planning Department, of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will ensure that testing is conducted in a safe manner. You will provide technical and administrative guidance to Junior Test directors. You will perform and oversee adequate and accurate work authorization and tagout actions for safe release of work testing You will audit all complete tests You will review test documents produced by others both inside and outside the Test Division for adequacy, clarity, and completeness.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience interpreting, selecting and applying guidelines relating to system alterations, basic procedural changes, and shifting schedules with due consideration to factors which govern the safe and efficient execution of the nuclear and non-nuclear ship/submarine overhaul test program; Experience applying a mastery of knowledge of the details of construction and operation of complex shipboard systems, including but not limited to; steam, propulsion, air, hydraulics, and electrical generation and distribution; Experience working on all submarine/ship systems and conducting shipboard tests.
